Chenonceau

Many consider Chenonceau to be the loveliest of the Loire chateau. It is beautiful
in ways not found in the other Chateau visited on this trip. Chenonceau is a
splendid and graceful Renaissance palace surrounded by formal gardens and wooded
grounds. Sometimes called the Queen's Chateau, Chenonceau was home to several
French Queens. Catherine de Medicis built the Grande Gallerie over the Cher River
